Pay
Q. What are the pay rates?
- Markers will be paid per item that they score. The item rate will be calculated at the end of the marking by taking the average item rate and equating this to be equivalent to $85 per hour with a paid 20-minute morning and afternoon break. Markers who mark more than the average rate will earn more and markers who mark less than the average rate will earn less. Markers will be paid $85 per hour during the initial marker training.
For Example:
Example 1: The average rate for an item is calculated at 20 per hour ($4.25 per item)
| Number of items scored in 1 hour | Item rate | Pay for 1 hour |
| 20 | $4.25 | $85.00 |
| 22 | $4.25 | $93.50 |
| 18 | $4.25 | $76.50 |
Example 2: The average rate for an item is calculated at 80 per hour ($1.06 per item)
| Number of items scored in 1 hour | Item rate | Pay for 1 hour |
| 80 | $1.06 | $85.00 |
| 90 | $1.06 | $95.63 |
| 70 | $1.06 | $74.38 |
Example 3: The average rate for an item is calculated at 33 per hour ($2.58 per item)
| Number of items scored in 1 hour | Item rate | Pay for 1 hour |
| 33 | $2.58 | $85.00 |
| 41 | $2.58 | $105.61 |
| 21 | $2.58 | $54.09 |
****The examples above are for illustrative purposes only, actual pay rates for each item will be calculated at the end of the marking****
